All aesthetics must have rules, but there is only one rule for Technogasm. For anything to be considered Technogasem it could not have existed before or without the internet. Seems simple enough, right? Well let me expand a bit further on this

 You know this guy

Well he didn't invent the first computer
This guy did

Well, one of these dudes is old and boring, and the other dude is pretty cool and died of pancreatic cancer. No,w the first dude made a computer that looked like this

The other dude made a computer that looked like this

all of that to say that there are different generations of computers, the era from which all that cool old web stuff we like so much comes from being from the third generation onwards.

So what is technogasm

Technogasm is a movement or aesthetic meant to celebrate technology and internet culture. Technogasm is usually characterized by its cluttered, maximalist visuals. But anything that falls into the definition before can be considered Technogasm. The word technogasm is something I came up with that combines the root of techno, which is used to form the word technology. Then the last couple of letters of 0r-g@sm refer to the chaotic and stimulating nature of the aesthetic. Now Technogasm is not a set of morals or a particular lifestyle its more so like an aesthetic you can categorize things in or create art or content around. But the main idea of Technogasm is the celebrate the idea that the internet can be fun, creative and personal.

Now for the fun part

What things are considered technogasm

games

iPad baby is a perfect example of Technogasm the game has you play as a iPad kid trying to collect items for pepole without getting caught

Old Doom Games

Public Figures

Who doesn't love Hatsune Miku

Technically, all Vocaloids fall under the Technogasm definition

( I only really put Kaito and Gakupo as examples because, for some reason, I couldn't find GIFs with more than three vocaloids at a time)

i would put Machine Girl in their own music category but i think they count as a public figure too

WEBSITES

Most, if not all, websites are on Neocities.

here are just some examples

i am the biggest fan of Lainzine

here's a screenshot from the magazine itself

i mean look at these gif archive sites i found today

I would put more examples, but this page is starting to lag out my computer

For now, just check out my Pinterest board, get creative, and don't be afraid to show me what you all come up with
